In anticipation of the New English Translation (NET Bible) Full-Notes print editions being available October 1, 2019, a panel discussion about the NET Bible was convened at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) in early September.

The NET Bible translation distinguishes itself by including more than 60,000 translators’ notes in its pages, offering unprecedented transparency as to how it was translated from the Bible’s original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.
In the following video, Dr. Darrell Bock, executive director for Cultural Engagement at the DTS Hendricks Center, talks with contributors to the newest release of the NET Bible: Drs. Dorian Coover-Cox, Hall Harris, Bob Chisholm, Daniel Wallace, and senior marketing director Nikki Getman.
Injecting a bit of levity into the discussion at the time stamp of 28:02, was Dr. Daniel Wallace when he voiced the following: “Mark 9:29 says ‘these demons can only be cast out by prayer’ but some readings add ‘and fasting.’ When I do exorcisms I tend hedge my bets and do both. But you can tell just by looking at me, I usually go with the shorter reading.”

The first and second editions of the NET were released by Biblical Studies Press. Thomas Nelson is partnering with BSP to steward the publication of the NET moving forward. It will also continue to be available online at Bible.org (@bibleorg) and on Bible Gateway (@biblegateway).
