The Lord is very patient. That is why we are given this time on earth to choose good over evil. Many times we ask the question: why does God allow the evil in the world to seemingly prosper? Sometimes we are even tempted to think that there is no justice in the world. It seems that the evil ones get away with what they are doing and the righteous ones suffer and lose out in the end.
But today’s Gospel tells us that there will be a judgment day. It is all a matter of time, but it will come. The evil will go to the fiery furnace, while the good shall be rewarded in Heaven.
The Lord sees everything and records everything. At the end of time, all will be brought to the light. All secrets and intentions of the heart will be brought forth and revealed. Therefore, let us take consolation in doing good, preserving the good and defending the good in us, because the days will come when the saints will shine like the sun in God’s kingdom. Let us have this desire to be one of those saints.
