Since its release as part of the Bible Gateway Plus library, the Expositor’s Bible Commentary, Abridged edition has become one of the most popular study resources available to Bible Gateway Plus members.
The Abridged edition of the Expositor’s Bible Commentary is based on the original 12-volume set used by pastors, students and scholars around the world. While it’s broken down into two volumes (Old Testament and New Testament), it offers the key verse-by-verse commentary that leaves out technical jargon, allowing you to gain insight into your Bible study.
One of the best ways to use the Expositor’s Bible Commentary, Abridged edition in Bible Gateway Plus is to access it during while you are reading Scripture as you normally do. Given this time of year, as we head into Thanksgiving, you may be reading Psalm 100 with your church.
The “Plus Library” has been such a valuable tool for my personal study, as well as preparations for my Sunday Class.

As you are reading this Psalm, open the Resources tab and filter to the Expositor’s Bible Commentary. When you select it (either on your desktop computer or mobile device), the exposition that aligns with verse in Psalm 100 will be accessible. You can read through each of these by Expanding and Collapsing each individual article.
In particular, verse 3, starting out with “Know that the Lord is God” may catch your attention. “Know” is one of those words that can be taken many ways. With the Expositor’s Bible Commentary, you can read more about how it is more than an acknowledgement of a truth.
Not everyone will be drawn to the Bible passages in the same way, but the idea that knowing the Lord is the only true God is also a confession that we are held accountable for is a truly enlightening take on our relationship with God and worth studying further.
We encourage you to dig in and learn more with Bible Gateway Plus. You’ll gain access to over $2,300 in digital Bible study resources. Learn more today!
