We’re now three weeks into our fall fundraising campaign and we’ve raised only $12,000. While I’m grateful to those who have given, and while I acknowledge that the economy is struggling, I’ll admit to being disappointed.
We urgently need to raise $40,000 by end-of-year to keep Catholic Exchange viable and growing in 2023. And we’re a long way from this number right now.
Which is why I have to make one last determined appeal imploring you to make your most generous tax-deductible gift possible.
I know this is a busy time of year and that your donation dollars are lured in different directions. It’s a season of planning, prepping, and gift-giving, of blessing others, and noticing the ways others bless us.
We all absolutely adore that sweet feeling we call “Christmas spirit.” It comes in abundance when we give of ourselves from the heart, when we step off the hamster wheel with its checklists and calendars and breakneck pace. It comes when we realize we have made a difference and done something significant.
This is what we’re all about at Catholic Exchange. The feedback we get from people whose lives we touch is a kind of “Christmas spirit” we enjoy all year long. It’s what drives us. And it only happens because you help cover our bills.
We are a place of refuge and redirection in the busyness of people’s lives. We provide a space for silence. We point to what matters. Like no other publication, our articles provide sound teaching, both practical and spiritual, all within a clear, calm Catholic context.
In the barrage of media that tells you breathlessly what you need to do, and amidst the noise of our own inner compulsions to look and be perfect, our articles focus on the one question of greatest importance: Is God the master of your life?
I promise you, a regular dose of Catholic Exchange will pluck you right off the spinning wheel and remind you to pray, re-set, and find serenity. As you sit at the Master’s feet, as prayer becomes more a part of your life, your life will become a prayer, an offering back to God and to others, in love.
We’ve been watching this happen in people’s lives for the past 21 years.
The returns to faith, the re-sets happen with your help. You make them happen. We create, package, and present the inspiring tools for Catholic living, but you fund them, and you should be proud of that. And we need your help again, right now.
These last few weeks I’ve been inviting you to help us in our second and final fundraising campaign of the year.
And now, we’re at the end. Whatever Christmas gift you give us today will be what will get us to the Easter season of 2023. That’s it.
Will you thoughtfully, prayerfully consider what God is asking you to donate today to keep this apostolate going?
Today, please make your most generous tax-deductible gift to Catholic Exchange. If you have been blessed this year, would you donate $1,000? Or perhaps $500 or $250?
Maybe you can make a gift of $25, $50, or $100.
Maybe you feel moved to give more than you’ve given to us before.
Maybe you can give simply as a thank-you for what you’ve already received. Consider the inestimable value of even one article that touched your heart and increased your or a loved one’s faith. One article you shared with a friend who is away from the Church. How much was that worth?
I hope you will give as generously as you can at this critical time. Add us to your Christmas list, so that we can ensure more and more readers will be redirected to a life of holiness.
Please make your gift today to keep Catholic Exchange available to the countless people on a hamster wheel who want nothing more than to step off and run headlong into the arms of our loving God.
