Today’s gospel story is one we are all familiar with. It raises the question, “How much do we trust God?” Whether we consider ourselves rich or poor, we all “have” people, possessions, names, titles, etc., which we consider important to our very being. “What we have” define us. They make us who we think we are.
The challenge for us who struggle to love God a little more each day is to learn how to use what we have only in so far as they help us find God. The challenge is to live yet another day trusting that God will take care of us and give us the strength to do his will.
To trust God is to constantly be reminded of his great love for us. “Lord, teach us everyday to trust you.”
